Guest Bio - Ann Grant is an attorney, author, entrepreneur, a law professor—and—she is a SURVIVOR.

Ann experienced a perfect storm of loss during the 2008 financial crisis: Her 16 year marriage to the father of her children ended, the large multinational law firm where she was a partner dissolved and her Father passed away unexpectedly. Overwhelmed by these losses, she deepened her meditation practice to ground herself and to find a path through the chaos. Ann learned to follow her intuition during this time and started a support group for women contemplating divorce. She did not aspire to be a divorce attorney, but rather wanted to be of service to women facing divorce given her personal experience as the mother of three children.

What happened surprised and astounded Ann. People began to ask Ann to represent them in their divorces. Combining the legal skills she had acquired during her years as an experienced litigator with her personal experience as a mother—she was extremely effective-- both in and out of the courtroom. She brought in other experts to help along the way—including financial advisors, therapists and career counselors. This network of helping professionals was the impetus for Ann’s bestselling book, The Divorce Hacker’s Guide to Untying the Knot, which provides legal, financial, and psychological expertise to help the reader skillfully prepare and protect themself as they navigate the modern divorce—proactively, efficiently, resiliently.

Manhattan Beach Family Law has grown and has opened offices in Brentwood and Newport Beach.
